About Kokiri Marae Pataka Kai

At Kokiri Marae Pataka Kai we distribute and provide more than just food, building resilience, skills, and a sense of belonging. Our doors are open to provide mana-enhancing support through our pataka (foodbank), maara (garden), whare kakahu (pre-loved clothing store), and connection. We are a community-driven storehouse dedicated to food sovereignty and dignity for whānau across Wainuiomata, Petone, Naenae, and Taita, delivering kai three times a week and reaching 2,293 whānau members in 2025. Our initiatives form a local, circular system grounded in Manaakitanga, sustainability, and collective responsibility.
