About VisionWest Community Trust

Visionwest Waka Whakakitenga supports whānau through a wide range of services, including food support, community housing, youth development programmes, counselling, financial mentoring, in-home healthcare, and trauma-informed care. Through our food services, we provide both immediate and dignified support: Pātaka Kai offers free emergency food parcels, while our low-cost social supermarket, Manaaki Kai, empowers whānau to choose the food they need and pay a small contribution. Through our Kai services we support around 1,400 whānau each month, helping ensure access to nutritious food while fostering dignity, choice, and community wellbeing.

How Your Donation Works

1

Your donation funds the professional butchering of a wild deer.

2

Once $120 is raised, a registered WGRT hunter gets the green light.

3

The deer is professionally processed into venison mince.

4

The food bank collects and distributes the meat to those who need it.
